Killer Photo Spot in Panama City Beach

Camp Hellen

While visiting PCB on a recent family trip, I was doing my thing, looking for a place to get killer photos in  Panama City Beach, despite the five kids being with us. This is where I must tell you that my wife is amazing and lets me explore my passion for photography! I did the quick google search and found a few quick hits. One of which was Camp Helen State Park. Here is a quick link to the park’s website if you want to read more or get official details.

LOCATION

The Park is located @ 23937 Panama City Beach Parkway Panama City Beach, FL 32413. Camp Helen’s historic district is listed on the National Register of Historic places.  Park hours are from 8:00 a.m. until sunset, 365 days a year.  Admission Fee is $4.00 per vehicle, but go ahead and give the five dollar bill!

HISTORY

This park has a lot to explore and a very rich history. Prehistoric mounds found on the property indicate that it was inhabited more than 4000 years ago.

As we were in the area during the offseason, we were almost all alone on the beach but were treated to a spectacular sunset as seen above. If you have a free evening and want to enjoy the beach and a little nature along the way, this is a perfect spot.

There are many photographic opportunities in this park. You can shoot family photos, landscapes, or if you a lucky enough to see its wildlife. Photographers can’t go wrong by spending some time here!
